EOH

The image with this rune is the yew tree and the spindle used by the goddess of death to weave the fate of humankind. Its symbolism is tied up with death, decay and the past, but this may not always be totally negative.

Eoh may predict the death of an elderly relative or friend whose time has come but it may also herald the return of an old friend from the past. Whether the latter will be good or bad will depend on this rune's position.

Obviously the meaning of this rune may upset some people. This will be softened however if we take a more realistic approach to death which is, after all, a natural process that comes to all of us. But if we accept that matter and spirit are not really separate then the act of dying is just another stage in our evolution.

In ancient times the Spring mating rituals of the human representatives of the Lord and Lady were the hidden secret behind the yew rune - that the act of love re-affirms the power of life to conquer death and leads to rebirth.
