ING
ING is the name of a mysterious god who was probably the consort of the German earth goddess Nerthus or of the sex goddess Freya. He may have been a Sun god and one version of the word means 'beacon.' In this form he is linked with fire and, as in inglenook, the hearth.
The meaning of this rune connects to orgasm in the sense of completion. It therefore refers to the completion of a cycle or a dream that has come true. If this rune appears near Beorc or Tyr it could mean a change in a platonic relationship to a romantic or sexual one.
In the spiritual quest the seeker has now reached a point in his inner journey where a state of balance has been achieved. This may be a lasting experience or, like orgasm, just a fleeting and transitory one.
Ultimately the goal of the seeker is to reconcile the opposing forces of fire and ice on both an outer and inner level. Only when that is achieved can there be the hope of transformation and enlightenment.
