RAD

The Rad rune carries the image of a wheel and is associated with movement, travel, horse-riding or any wheeled transport.

In Northern European myth it was believed that the Sun was carried across the sky each day in a horse-drawn wain or wagon. The progression of the seasons was also called the Wheel of the Year, symbolising travel through both time and space.

Spiritually it is the seeker who is riding on the path just as Odin rode his magical horse down into the underworld. This rune teaches us that we should not be afraid to travel the highways and byways in our search for truth and contentment.

On a very ordinary level Rad quite literally predicts travel in general, for business or pleasure, long or short term. It suggests that the querent needs a break from routine or is perhaps wandering aimlessly through life without any set goal.
